GLENBURNIE LIVESTOCK REPORT 10/05/2023
A week of lower prices at all selling centers, helped by much larger yardings in the North, saw a smaller yarding at Glenburnie this week. Cattle prices have been under pressure in NSW and this is now taking effect in the South. Prices were generally 15-25c per kg back on last week. Only 346 were yarded, with many cattle held for this Friday Store Sale where over 2000 will be yarded.

Beef bulls made from 234-250c per kg.
Quotations: PC & SL Woolston Lim Bull 150c 890kg $2225 and BJ Baker MG Bull 234c 910kg $2129.

Processors and feeders operated on the smaller offering, with feeders dominating the bidding where quality and breed suited. The best beef bred steers made 320-375c per kg. Cross bred types made 265-330c per kg, Ang Frs Strs 240-270c per kg.

YOUNG CATTLE: Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Peter Creek and Scott Miller
The young cattle followed the cheaper trends with the exception being some very good vealers. Trade and feedlot orders along with local restockers were all active. The heavy heifers over 500kg 280-320c per kg. Trade heifers 330-375c per kg, Trade steers 345-385c per kg. Some very good quality vealers made 380-434c per kg.

All weights and breeds were represented selling to softer competition to be 15-20c per kg back on last week. Medium and heavy beef cows 240-265c per kg, light beef cows 190-240c per kg, dairy cows 210-240c per kg.

A very limited number of sheep and lambs came forwards which sold to easier demand which is with the market earlier in the week. The small number of lambs sold from $60 to $170.
