J. Croser & Sons quality run of Shorthorn steers sold to a top of 373c kg or $2381.

Please note NO markets next week due to the Easter long weekend.
 
A stronger market this week, with price increases of 10-20c per kg as processors tried to secure numbers due to the lack of markets next week. 365 cattle were offered, and quality did improve in some classes. Competition opened up stronger and continued right the way through all classes. 

BULLS: Sold at 9am by Auctioneer Jordan Heinrich
A small run of beef bulls sold at fully firm rates to last week 230-260c per kg for the better bulls.
Quotations: Patanga Pastoral Co. Shorthorn bull 260c 960kg $2470. Riverbend Pastoral Co. Angus Bull 244c 900kg $2196.

HEAVY STEERS AND BULLOCKS:     Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Andrew Whan and Scott Miller.
A larger, better quality run of bullocks and steers with a good selection of all weights and grades. Prices rebounded after last weeks cheaper market to see increases of 10-20c per kg, due to the at times spirited competition. The best grown steers and bullocks made 350-378c per kg. Crossbred steers 290-360c per kg and Friesian steers 265-295c per kg.
Quotations: J Croser & Sons offered 3 pens of very good, vendor bred Shorthorn steers. 20 at 365c 520kg, 19 at 373c 572kg and 7 at 355c 670kg $2381. The Smaling family’s prime Her ox 365c 637kg $2326. WR & HJ Attiwill Her Frs x strs 360c 605kg $2178. MWJ clients again yarded a good run of Frs strs. R & TR Paltridge Frs strs 293c 552kg $1617. KP Bouchier 13 at 295c and 9 at 290c topping at $1561.

YOUNG CATTLE:     Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Peter Creek and Liam Durcan.
Again a very small plain yarding that comprised of a large proportion of dairy cross cattle. Prices for the better quality beef cattle improved. Trade steers 350-372c per kg, trade heifers 330-372c per kg and no vealers to quote.
Quotations: Riverbend Ang hfr 336c 577kg $1940. Patrick Rose Dairies Frs x hfr 210c 350kg $735 and 222c 402kg $893. J Croser & Sons Ang x strs 366c 467kg $1711.

COWS:     Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Liam Durcan and Andrew Whan.
A smaller run of cows, but quality was very good. Processors competed strongly to secure their share. Prices increased 5-10c per kg. Heavy beef cows 265-300c per kg and light beef cows 220-260c per kg.
Quotations: Riverbend Past Co. Ang x cows 299c 703kg $2102. SE Carter Poll Her cows 290c 707kg $2051. ER & GF Flint Shn cows 289c 737kg $2131. L Jones Ang cows 285c 700kg $1995.

SHEEP & LAMBS:     Drafted & Presented by Auctioneer Liam Durcan & Jordy Heinrich.
A small yarding of sheep and lambs were offered this week. Due to the small number offered there was limited buyer competition. No heavy weight lambs were yarded. Trade lambs 20-25kg sold from $136 to $172. Light lambs under 20kg made $70 to $131. A small number of sheep made $50 to $70.
